Jason and Cortney
This was probably the most unusual pool that I have ever
seen. The diving board was in the middle of the pool facing
the deep end. To make it worse, it was in the grass on the back side
of the pool. On the deck area there was a brick wall with two flower
beds made into the wall with a fish reflection pond in the middle.
The idea was right but over done. The wall continued almost to the
pool wall with a two and one half foot walk way to the steps and
diving board. The pool had been coated with a fiberglass finish that
was cracking and flaking badly.
We removed all of the deck, coping, fiberglass, tile and diving
board. We lowered ten feet of raised wall to minimize the multilevel
steps. We actually did not originally plan on removing the wall. We
thought that the wall was structurally sound. However, once the
flower beds were removed we found out that the wall was actually
resting on the driveway with no vertical or base support. Once we
pointed this out to the home over, two of our guys started to
prepare to demo the wall. Just leaning on the wall surface, the
whole wall fell over to the our dismay.
This swimming pool was a complete remodel. The following is a
summary of what we performed.
- Removed existing deck, tile, coping, diving board, flower
beds.
- Raised the swimming pool depth of the deep end by three
feet.
- Added a beech entry with water deck jets that arch into the
swimming pool.
- Rebuilt the wall, making sure that we installed a wall
footer and vertical support.
- Poured a new deck featuring a stamped concrete design.
- Added and plumbed a pressure line for an automatic pool
cleaner.
- Installed an automatic control system to control the
refection pond, reflection pond lighting, deck jets, heater, spa
booster pump, spa air blower, spa light, pool lights, automatic
pool cleaner, and temperature controls.
